Joseph A. Vita, MD

Dr. Vita is a Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the American Heart Association. Dr. Vita is a member of Cardiovascular Diseases Board of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Vita's clinical practice focuses on care of patients in the Coronary Care Unit and consultative cardiology. Dr. Vita is internationally known for his clinical research on endothelial dysfunction in atherosclerosis and related disease states. His research focuses on the mechanisms of endothelial cell dysfunction and the clinical relevance of endothelial cell dysfunction in cardiovascular disease. His work is currently supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and the pharmaceutical and food industries, including Abbott, Pfizer, Welch's, and Ocean Spray.

Emile Mohler III, MD

Dr. Mohler is a recognized thought leader in the area of cardiovascular medicine. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Mohler is also Director of the Vascular Laboratory at University of Pennsylvania, Presbyterian and Co-director of the Medicine-Radiology Vascular Laboratory at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Mohler is a principal investigator in several clinical trials that include the assessment of endothelial function. He currently serves as scientific reviewer for the NIH Small Business Innovation Research committee. He was recently elected to the board of trustees for the Intersocietal Commission for Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). Dr. Mohler has participated in numerous national and international scientific sessions - including Plenary Sessions at the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and Society for Vascular Medicine and Biology - as a presenter, a panel discussant, and a moderator including Plenary Sessions at the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and Society for Vascular Medicine and Biology.
